Thermostat for Williams wall heater guide

Thermostat for Williams wall heater guide

Williams wall heater requires a millivolt thermostat with voltages as low as 0.75 volts. You can also use these thermostats in gas furnaces and wall heaters of other brands as well. In this post, we will share both programmable and nonprogrammable thermostats for Williams wall heaters.

In some states of the United States, the temperature drops significantly at night, so programmable thermostats give you the benefit of not needing to adjust them manually again and again.

That is why these programmable thermostats are a bit costly compared to non-programmable ones.

While the Williams wall heaters are excellent, sometimes they don’t have their thermostats to control the temperature. This is why I found it quite convenient when I installed my wall heater to get a thermostat alongside it. Not all thermostats are compatible with William wall heaters, so I did have to search and cross-check a little bit, but you won’t have to as you can confidently choose from the thermostats I have mentioned in this article.

Before proceeding further, I want to thank you for liking the article about thermostats for oil or water-based baseboard heaters.

Which thermostat to choose for Williams wall heater

You are not bound to purchase only thermostats from the Williams brand only. But you should remember that for furnaces and Williams wall heaters, you need millivolt thermostats that only operate at 0.75 volts or 750 millivolts. These millivolt thermostats usually have two wires connecting them with the Williams wall heater.

Honeywell Non-Programmable Thermostat

In terms of thermostats, without a single shred of doubt, I can say that Honeywell is the leading brand. It has the best, most reliable, and easily affordable thermostats. Simply put, they have the biggest hand in the pie. This nonprogrammable thermostat is a state-of-the-art, simple yet modern piece of technology that is perfect for the day-to-day needs of most people.

It is silent and does not make a lot of noise. It has a great display that shows the temperature in both Celsius and Fahrenheit. Moreover, it has precise temperature control with an astonishing accuracy of up to 0.15 degrees Celsius or 0.27 degree Fahrenheit. This model comes in a compact, slim design specifically designed for easy DIY installations. You don’t have to worry about hiring a professional for a menial task. It is one of the top ten thermostats for Williams wall heaters and furnaces.

Honeywell Programmable Electric Thermostat

While analog or mechanical thermostats are perfectly alright and get done, programmable digital thermostats bring the heating experience up a notch. Personally, my family and I also prefer these because of the convenience they promise. With the Honeywell programmable thermostat, you get up to 4 programs per day, battery-free backup, and an excellent backlit display that makes everything a little bit easier.

This means you can change between different temperature profiles throughout the day without having to adjust the dial every single time yourself. It switches automatically according to your needs. A higher heat setting in the early morning but a dialed down setting in the afternoon when the sun is up, and it isn’t quite as cold outside.

You can even have different separate programming for weekends when you are home most of the day and weekdays when you aren’t. This model features fast and easy two-wire installation and TRIAC silent switching, so there’s no extra hum in the house that might annoy you. Separate programming for the weekdays and weekends.

Honeywell CT53K1006 millivolt Thermostat

From manual, we come back to another digital with the CT53K1006 from Honeywell. This one is non-programmable and works based on a bimetal temperature sensor. It’s easy to install, economical, and pretty cheap. It has no special features, but it is compatible with Williams wall heaters and can run one just fine. If you’re on a tight budget or just don’t care enough about it to spend that much money, then this is the one for you.

This thermostat is easily one of the best ones you can have in your home; I will say that. As someone who used to own this exact model, I can personally vouch for the reliability and sturdiness of this product. It went 5 years without a hitch and then two more with some issues here and there before I decided that maybe it was time for an upgrade. I would recommend this model to anyone unsure of what to buy.

It is one of the top thermostats for Williams wall heaters and furnaces. It is better than other options out there simply due to its sturdy and long-lasting. You buy it once; you buy it for a lifetime. Well, a cat’s lifetime but a lifetime nonetheless.
